CHARACTER SERIES: NA - original character
OUT OF CHARACTER PERMISSIONS
BACKTAGGING: Perfectly fine with me. I understand that we all have varying commitments and keep different schedules, so I'm never going to fault anyone for jumping in late. If you see something that catches your eye, don't let the post date be a deterrent. I'll do my best to tag everyone back.
THREADJACKING: Feel free. I'm guilty of doing the same thing myself on occasion, though I do my best to ensure that everyone in the thread is at least familiar with me. I'm only put off by it if someone is continually threadjacking my posts but has never shown any inclination in interacting with my muse.
FOURTHWALLING: You're more than welcome to give it a try, but depending on the cause and the cleverness, you might or might not expect a direct response to it.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Provided we can all bear in mind the simple fact that in character actions are not always indicative of out of character feelings. I've got no problem playing offensive subjects, and will deal with them as Levi would in the moment. But I'm not for writer-to-writer drama. As long as we're all able to separate the two, it's fine. In fact, I love a bit of negative CR from time to time.
IN CHARACTER PERMISSIONS
HUGGING: Feel free. He'll probably reciprocate boisterously. Levi's a fairly affectionate fellow, and he loves a good hug.
KISSING: Go right ahead. Cheek, lips, doesn't matter. His level of response will likely depend on the intent behind the kiss and his current level of romantic attachment, but as I said... he's a pretty affectionate guy and he's not one to shy away from that.
FLIRTING: Oh yeah. More than likely, Levi will flirt right back. Just bear in mind that it might be less about romantic intent than it is about having a good time and enjoying life. Levi's more than willing to flirt with people he has not genuine interest in, just for the fun of it. Get him on the dance floor, and you better watch out.
FIGHTING: It's not often that Levi throws the first punch, but he won't hesitate to defend himself if it comes to blows. He's fairly good at keeping his frustrations crammed inside, but when he blows his stack it's more likely that he'll shout or take his anger out on something inanimate. Still, I've got no problem with him taking a few hits. I do prefer that these not just be one-off threads. If you want to fight him, stick around so that it can be part of an ongoing character relationship between the two.
INJURING: Same as above, basically. Give me a chance to respond before you assume any particular damages, but you're more than welcome to leave him with some scrapes and scratches. Again, I'd just prefer that it be somehow tied to a larger story between our two characters if you choose to do so.
KILLING: Let's just keep things tidy and not do that.
TELEPATHY/SUPERNATURAL ABILITIES: Levi is not currently aware of the existence of superhuman powers or abilities. Which isn't to say that your muse can't introduce him to them, if it's a part of who they are. Just be prepared that he might be more inclined to think that they're the crazy one. If you're looking for ideas on what kind of read your muse might get from him or what secrets he might be hiding, feel free to send me a private message.
FURTHER CONSIDERATIONS
For the continued sanity of the muse and his writer, I anticipate that most people Levi comes into contact with will not be well enough versed in ASL in order to effectively communicate with him. That is more than okay. This writer encourages other individuals to take the opportunity to explore the dynamic this could easily lead to, as opposed to taking the easy way out and giving a muse fluent knowledge of a language he or she probably has no reason to know. Furthermore, claiming to understand ASL simply because of the convenience associated with assigning a muse a skill that the writer doesn't have to be accountable for is a degradation. Less than 1% of the population of the United States uses American Sign Language on a day-to-day basis.
While I understand it is natural human inclination to want to make communication and self-expression as easy as possible, please think about whether or not your muse would have genuine cause to know ASL and be able to carry on complex conversations in the language. Nine-tenths of the time, the answer is no. Don't worry, though! There are plenty of other ways to communicate with a Deaf individual. A lack of understanding for the language should never prevent interaction.
